Dr. Bernadine J. Dykes is a Professor of Management and Associate Dean of the School of Business at Shenandoah University. She received her Ph.D. in Strategic Management from Michigan State University, her MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, and her BBA (cum laude) from Howard University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Previously, Dr. Dykes served as an Associate Director of Admissions at Columbia Business School, where she managed and made decisions on over 10,000 applications. She was also the Acting Director of the MBA Program at Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School. Prior to her academic career, she held leadership roles in the financial services industry with KPMG in Washington, DC and JPMorganChase in New York City.
Dr. Dykes currently serves on the board of three nonprofit organizations. She is the board treasurer for Grafton Integrated Health Network, a national nonprofit supporting individuals with mental and behavioral health challenges. She also serves on the board of the Loudoun County, VA Chamber of Commerce, and on the advisory council for Valley Health System in Winchester, VA.
Dr. Dykes has traveled across four continents and enjoys professional sports, movies, and fine dining. She is passionate about guiding applicants through their academic and career journeys.
