Lee Young, Admission Consultant

Lee Young

Former Senior Associate Director of Admissions

   Phillips Exeter Academy

Lee attended Phillips Exeter Academy first as a day student and then as a boarder.  She then attended Hamilton College where she earned a double degree in Psychology & Sociology, while playing 12 seasons of competitive sports.

Lee’s first job out of college was as an admissions officer at Phillips Exeter Academy. Never intending to make a career in admissions at PEA, she continually felt challenged and fulfilled, while also coaching, living in the dormitory, and serving as an advisor to hundreds of students.  During her 33 years at Exeter, she interviewed over 6000 applicants, evaluated over 16,000 applications, and served as the chair of every admissions subcommittee. She was Exeter’s first athletic liaison working closely with applicants and coaches. Additionally, she served on the financial aid committee, and managed the campus-wide visit program for admitted families each spring.

Lee now utilizes her extensive admissions experience to strategize and advise families on how to present the strongest application possible. Lee believes that the high school years are the most formative in one’s education, and knows the importance of finding the right fit school.
