The goal of the Solomon Research Scholars Program is to make college-level independent research accessible to talented high school students. Oftentimes, high school students who secure research opportunities do so through personal or family connections. For most high school students, these connections to research opportunities simply do not exist and they are often unable to secure research opportunities to boost their college admission odds. The Solomon Research Scholars Program addresses this problem by matching talented high school students with PhD research advisors to conduct independent research projects leading to a research paper and abstract for the college application.

Eligibility Requirements for Enrollment in the Solomon Research Scholars Program

Step 1:

Enroll in a Premium Coaching Package

The first step is to enroll your high school student in a Premium 8th Grade, Freshman, Sophomore or Junior Package. These packages provide comprehensive college admissions counseling from a former admissions officer and cover work with your child through the end of high school.

Step 2:

Submit Transcript and Test Scores for Evaluation

The second step is to submit your high school student’s transcript and test scores for evaluation for entry into the Solomon Research Scholars Program. Although we want to make the program available to as many students as possible, the aptitude and maturity needed to perform independent research and to write a research paper are high, so we must take preliminary steps to ensure that your child will be able to successfully conduct research and write a research paper.

The Solomon Research Scholars Program is open to students in 8th grade, 9th grade, 10th grade, and 11th grade. We ask that you submit the following materials for evaluation before being given approval to enroll in the program:

High school transcript
AP exam scores
PSAT score
SAT or ACT score

Step 3:

Enroll in the Solomon Research Scholars Program

Once your child has been approved to enroll in the Solomon Research Scholars Program, you can enroll your child in the program as an add-on service to your Premium Coaching Package. Your child will then be matched with a PhD research advisor to conduct independent research and to write a research paper for submission as part of his or her college application.
